We all experience tough times at one point or another in our lives, and sometimes it may be difficult to reach out to our loved ones or to a professional for help. You may be thinking that things will get better on their own, and maybe they will. However, if you see that your problems are negatively effecting any of the major areas in your life, such as work, school , relationships, or the problem is getting worse, then that's a good sign that it is time to get some professional help. Seeking help is a STRENGTH, not a weakness.
Just thinking about going to talk to a stranger about your problems may produce feelings of nervousness, fear, apprehension or embarrassment. Relax! Therapist, like myself, understand these feelings and realize they are perfectly normal and to be expected. When you visit my office you will be accepted just as you are. Your anxieties and fears about coming will be eliminated and you will be made to feel comfortable and relaxed in the setting of my professional office. Your time will be respected and you will seldom, if ever, have to wait in the waiting room more than five or ten minutes On your visits, you will never have to interact with a receptionist or secretary, only your therapist.
On our first session together, as we get to know each other, I will get some background information on you, and we will work together to set your goals and expectations of therapy. This way we can easily monitor progress and terminate our sessions when your goals are met. Often times, my clients (adults and children) enjoy coming to their sessions so much they don't want to end our work together.
For those busy professionals, (or anyone else) who would like to come in but time is an issue, I also offer sessions via telephone after our first face-to-face session.
Getting better is hard work, but together, along with prayer your goals are reachable! I am a Christian based therapist who is here to help you on your way to a fuller life.
